Phytofibre
This series of workshops was presented during my residency at Adélard, where I had the pleasure of facilitating them in collaboration with artist and arts educator Geneviève Marois-Lefebvre. Throughout these sessions, young participants from the Frelighsburg day camp, Doby in Mystic, and Explor'art at the Cowansville Public Library took part in the process of making handmade paper.
Together, we explored another way of thinking about paper: creating it from plants gathered directly from the surrounding landscape. Each workshop began with a foraging walk, followed by an introduction to my artistic practice and my research on phytoremediation plants, before transforming the collected plant material into sheets of handmade paper.
My sincere thanks to Adélard, the partner organizations, and all of the participants for their curiosity, enthusiasm, and the wonderful moments of shared creativity.
